you can find the ruin in the middle of the wood above Missian and is easily reached on foot.
History: built around 1235 by the Count of Eppan it was given as fief to the families of Boymont and Korb. 200 years later, Ulrich Kässler, Duke Friedrich’s secretary, inherited the castle. Twelve years later the castle burnt down due to an inheritance dispute and was almost completely ruined, and there were no plans to rebuild it. The present owner, Fritz Dellago, restored the building as much as possible in 1977. Architectural style: Boymont is an illustrative example of a Middle Aged castle that was lived in and not used for defence. Interesting: the unusual regular square ground plan, Roman and late Gothic features. Peculiarities: the wonderful inner courtyard where drinks are served, arched windows, remains of the chapel and other interesting architectural details can be found. You seem to be in another world. Walking: Boymont is just a quarter of an hour’s walk from Schloss Korb, and is part of the Castle Walk. There are many other possibilities for walks that bring you back to this starting point.Stay at our beautiful hotel, live the essence of harmony and wellbeing.
