Our excursion tips

During your stay at the well-being hotels Das Badl or Ansitz Angerburg, do you feel like walking and would you like to explore the cultural and historical treasures of the surrounding area? Take a look at our excursion tips:

Castelfeder above Auer

The painters of the Romantic Era named the mountain knoll at Auer in the South Tyrolean lowlands the “Tyrolean Arcadia”. And indeed, lots of history can be discovered here. Castelfeder is a local recreation area in the midst of nature and offers peace and tranquillity. Nearby, above the lake, the Leuchtenburg ruins is also worth visiting for the view.

The castles near Eppan

The idyllic village of Eppan, home of our Ansitz Angerburg, is especially known for the multitude of castles that are located here. Visit the imposing castles of Boymont, Hocheppan, Korb, and Gandegg and take a journey back to the time of knights and damsels.

Rastenbach Ravine near Kaltern

The Rastenbach Ravine is a wild biotope with waterfalls and typical canyon vegetation. The flume goes past Friedensweg trail and St. Peter’s Church and provides a small adventure for guests of our well-being hotels.

Winery & Wine Museum

Part of the excursions for our guests is also the Wine Museum, which is a must during your holidays in Kaltern. Visit one of the wineries along South Tyrol’s Wine Road and the Wine Museum in Kaltern. Here, viniculture is an age-old tradition. Wine is also a central concept at “Das Badl”.

Meran & Trauttmansdorff Castle

The spa town of Meran awaits its visitors with a new thermal spring, botanical gardens, the Touriseum, a Mediterranean climate, and various cultural events. It is about a 30-minute drive from our hotels in Kaltern and environs.

The Dolomites, the landmark of South Tyrol

The Dolomites have captivated admirers time and again with their unique play of colours: at dawn, they glisten and at dusk, they glow bright red. A roundtrip through the Dolomites takes you along unique vistas and cultural insights into the Val di Fassa, Val Gardena/Grödnertal, and Val Badia/Gadertal. A visit to one of the six Messner Mountain Museums of the region is also very interesting.

Lake Garda

Just 120km from Kaltern lies picturesque Lake Garda. While the northern shore is bordered by 2000-metre-high peaks, the southern shore is located in the plains. Thanks to the sub-Mediterranean climate on the sunny slopes, cypresses, agaves, oleander, cedars, olive trees, and even palm trees grow here.

Venice

A day excursion for two to Venice is also highly recommended during your holiday in our hotels in Kaltern and environs. The city stretches over 117 small islands in a salt water lagoon. The islands are interconnected by more than 400 bridges.
